Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that trick-or-treating will not be banned in New York this year as the coronavirus pandemic continues.
"You have neighbors. If you want to go knock on your neighbor's door, God bless you. If you want to go for a walk with your child through the neighborhood, I'm not going to tell you can't go for a walk with your child through the neighborhood,” said Cuomo.
Some parents say they feel as though kids have been cooped up inside all summer and should be allowed to go, but others say the risk of potentially catching the virus is just too great.
Gov. Cuomo’s office does say it will be putting safety protocols in effect prior to Halloween for people to follow.
