The Help for Bronx Blaze organization is stepping in to help families affected by the Belmont fire that killed 13 people last month.
The group has raised $21,000 so far to help pay for burial arrangements for six of the victims.
Five of the lives lost came from the same family, including 2- and 7-year-old girls. In total, the Francis-Young family had occupied five apartments in the Prospect Avenue building that went up in flames.
Help for Bronx Blaze says it would like to raise more funds to help house the surviving displaced relatives.
The organization is also helping with the funeral costs for the family of Emmanuel Mensah, an Army soldier who died saving others from the fire.
