Here are
some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
Shots were fired in Croton-on-Hudson this weekend. Police say gunfire erupted at
Harrison and Grand Street, just a five-minute
walk from the Carrie Tomkpins Elementary School. The report came in around 11 p.m. Friday. No injuries were reported.
A virtual vigil was held for
victims of gun violence Sunday night in Scarsdale. Members of the
community came together to remember the more than 900,000 Americans killed or
injured since the Sandy Hook school shooting. The vigil was put together by the Scarsdale
Congregational Church and several groups against gun violence.
Trees and power lines were
taken down over the weekend by a storm that crossed the Hudson Valley.
One of the hardest hit areas was Thornwood
where a tree came down, crushing a car at the intersection of Kensico Road and
Linda Avenue. According
to Con Edison's outage map, power has been restored to all residents in
that area.
