Beat the heat as high temps hit the city

High temperatures and humidity are expected early this morning and will continue to climb without a break over the next few days.

As another possible heat wave hits the city, people are heading to the pool in Baychester to try to beat the heat.
The pool allows for an escape from the high temperatures and humidity. A heat advisory in place through 8 p.m. tonight.
New York City pool hours have been extended today from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and cooling centers are also open for those who do not have air conditioning. Masks are still required, and visitors must follow social distancing rules within cooling centers.
The Office of Emergency Management encourages anyone who has to work outside to stay hydrated and take frequent breaks, as well as to check in on elderly friends, family and neighbors.
