Volunteers with Heineken USA and Grow NYC came together at Castle Hill Wednesday to build a community garden.
With help from the popular brewing company, the non-profit organization turned a vacant lot on Havemeyer Avenue into a green oasis complete with benches and tables.
The event was a joint effort for the Heineken USA's Annual Day of Giving Campaign.
It is the brewer's seventh project that chose the spot due to the high number of residential properties and low numbers of parks.
Grow NYC has created 80 gardens around the city and is currently planning to rehab a community garden on Coney Island damaged by Superstorm Sandy.
