Hundreds of Bronx residents of Central American descent took to the streets Sunday to celebrate their independence.
The 20th annual Central American Independence Day Festival and Parade featured floats, music, flag-waving and dancing.
Garifuna people from Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua recognized 195 years of independence from Spain.
The parade began in front of a building along Southern Boulevard that caught fire years ago, killing 87 Garifuna people.
