Abdul Chowdhury, an accountant with Dynamic Tax and Accounting, has advice for everyone this Tax Day – including those who have already filed.

Taxpayers have until midnight to file taxes or file for an extension. Most importantly, you need to plan to pay what you owe. Each month you are late on that payment, you will be fined 5%.

Chowdhury says you can set up a payment plan through the IRS website. He says to check the status of your refund.

"If you do not see the status of your refund, it is possible your tax return did not get submitted or has been rejected, so contact your accountant," he said.
