A lawsuit alleges that sexual abuse of both men and women has been taking place at juvenile detention centers citywide.
This includes Spofford and Horizon in the Bronx and Crossroads in Brooklyn.
The attorneys representing the victims say they've filed 100 additional cases, bringing the total number of cases to over 250.
Emily Miles, the executive director of the NYC Alliance Against Sexual Assault, says it's common for it to take years for victims to come forward.
"The trauma of sexual abuse, especially at a young age, takes years to process before many are able to think about coming forward and reporting," said Miles.
