A memorial of candles is growing outside the home of a man who was found dead after a fire was intentionally set inside his apartment, fire officials say.
Russell Henry, 35, died after a fire ripped through the first floor of his 808 Freeman St. apartment around 11:30 p.m. Monday, police confirmed.
Fire officials tell News 12 the NYPD is now investigating to determine if the fire is a homicide case.
Sources say investigators are also working to determine if Henry possibly died before the fire was set or if he died as a result of the fire.
A medical examiner will determine his exact cause of death.
