A lot of Hudson Valley communities are starting to prepare for the snow and the public to be prepared as well.

The City of Rye says cars should be off the streets so they can be cleaned.

Residents should clear snow from sidewalks within 24 hours of the snow ending.

Similarly, in New Rochelle, alternate-side parking regulations are suspended until March 31.

Beacon has issued a snow and ice alert. The town says after 2 inches of snow, cars can't be parked on the street between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. so plows can clear streets.

Residents can instead park in the city's lots as long as cars are moved out 24 hours after the snow stops.
