Clubhouse Cafe will officially open Monday, Jan. 8, thanks to a partnership between South Bronx United and Devocion Coffee.
South Bronx United is a nonprofit organization that started off as a soccer league back in 2009. Since then, it's transformed into athletic and academic mentorship, helping students with college readiness, tutoring, immigration services and now a work development program.
The program offers a six-month fellowship to help young adults build a resume and gear up for the workforce, all while getting paid. Clubhouse Cafe is one of the work opportunities.
The program is available to young adults ages 16-24. Andrew So, founder of South Bronx United, says they offer additional support to find opportunities after the six-month period.
Clubhouse Cafe will be open every day from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
