A major drug bust in Mercer County led to police seizing $500,000 worth of cocaine, prosecutors announced Tuesday.
Authorities say the Mercer County Narcotics Task Force received information from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration that lead to a month-long investigation.
According to Mercer County prosecutors, law enforcement officials executed a search warrant at the Motel 6 in Lawrence Township on March 21. They say William Adrover Rodriguez, 38, was inside a room on the first floor with 5.1 kilograms of powder cocaine. The value of the confiscated narcotics is approximately $500,000, according to authorities.
Rodriguez was taken into custody. Authorities say three others involved in the conspiracy to distribute cocaine were also arrested nearby.
  • Rodriguez, of Galloway, Ohio, was charged with multiple first-degree narcotic offenses.
  • 42-year-old Jamie Acevedo-Correa, of Riogrande, was charged with second-degree conspiracy.
  • 46-year-old Manuel Castro Velazquez, 46, of Trenton, was charged with second-degree conspiracy.
  • 34-year-old Elvin Perez-Medina, of Puerto Rico, was charged with second-degree conspiracy.
Authorities say the prosecutor’s office is filing motions to detain all four men pending trial.
