The group, combined with buses coordinated on Long Island and in Queens, made up over 100 New Yorkers looking to call on senators. The mission – asking senators to “Bring it home for the holidays” – meaning to get the Build Back Better Act passed before the holiday season kicks into high gear.
They want the act to include a pathway to citizenship for immigrants, saying that there is a serious need for permanent citizenship solutions for millions.
Make the Road has also held sleepouts and marches in the past to put pressure on senators, particularly Sen. Charles Schumer.
