go down to Washington, D.C., courtesy of
Make the Road NY.
The group, combined with buses coordinated on Long Island and in Queens, made up over 100 New Yorkers looking to call on senators. The mission – asking senators to “Bring it home for the holidays” – meaning to get the Build Back Better Act passed before the holiday season kicks into high gear.
They want the act to include a pathway to
citizenship for immigrants, saying that there is a serious need for permanent
citizenship solutions for millions.
Make the Road has also held sleepouts and marches in the past to put
pressure on senators, particularly Sen. Charles Schumer.
