NYPD: 100 January shootings in NYC – a 32% increase from 2021

The victims included a 11-month-old child, the fatal shooting of two NYPD officers and a man who was fatally shot in Parkchester on Saturday.

Crime rates continue to rise in New York City compared to last year, according to NYPD reports. 
The NYPD says shootings are up 30% from last year.
The victims included a 11-month-old child, the fatal shooting of two NYPD officers and a man who was fatally shot in Parkchester on Saturday.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has vowed to combat the surge with his new plan aimed at stopping the flow of illegal guns. 
Police say there were 100 shootings in the month January compared to 76 shootings last year.
