Two suspects are facing charges for robbing a person on the 2 train early Thursday morning, according to police.
Authorities say passengers reported a robbery in one of the cars as the train pulled into the Freeman Street station at around 5 a.m.
The victim said the suspects threatened him with a knife and an object that appeared to be a gun. They then stole his AirPods, phone and cash.
Police say officers Eddyson Jasmin and Abu Hassan witnessed the suspects throw the goods off the elevated subway platform. The duo was then taken into custody.
Authorities say the officers had been conducting a “train run” at the time, which is a regular method of patrol where police inspect train cars.
