Police have arrested and charged eight people after a 911 call about a man with a gun brought them to 3259 Hull Ave,. in Norwood.
The group was found living in a basement at the residence and illegal drugs and guns were also found, according to the NYPD. Police confirmed that a seven-year-old child was also in the basement apartment that is located across the street from P.S. 56, an elementary school.
Members of the NYPD say that they first learned of the suspicious activity in this basement apartment last Wednesday after responding to a call about a man with a gun. They chased him to the basement. They also say another armed man tried to run away too.
Police received a search warrant for the apartment and found six other adults and the seven-year-old child living there along with two more guns and drugs.
The Bronx district attorney's office says that the investigation discovered a loaded ghost gun and what they believe to be cocaine - which came as a surprise to a neighbor.
"My only complaint is the noise," said neighbor Alfred Munoz. "The motorcycles would come in at two o'clock in the morning and wake me up, but other than that there was no problems with them."
News 12 has learned that the DA requested all eight people facing charges be held in jail, but a judge released six of them up until their trial date and is currently holding the other two.
