The NYPD is searching for a man who is wanted for seven different burglary incidents across the borough.
The first incident took place on Aug. 5, and the most recent incident took place this past Sunday on Aug. 20. All of the locations that were victim to this robbery spree are in the Melrose and Mott Haven neighborhoods.
In each of the seven incidents, which took place at six different locations, the suspect in question forcibly entered either a closed restaurant or commercial establishment by breaking the glass on the front door or window.
The incidents took place between 9:50 p.m. and 4:40 a.m. for each robbery, and the suspect made away with sums of money between $50 and $2,000. In five of the seven incidents, the robber took money directly out of the cash register, sometimes just taking the entire register before taking off.
Video from M&K 99 Cents Plus on Melrose Avenue shows someone grabbing the register. The next morning, that register was found on the street after the suspect got into the register drawer.
The store’s owner says he is an immigrant who came to the United States three decades ago, finally opening up his business eight years ago. Now, he says that the robbery has nearly drained his savings.
