An appeals court judge ruled today to uphold the decision to keep the NYPD officer accused of spying for the Chinese government behind bars.
Officer Baimadajie Angwang, of Williston Park, was arrested in September. Angwang is charged with acting as an agent of a foreign government, wire fraud and obstruction of an official proceeding.
Prosecutors say he kept tabs on the Tibetan community here in New York for Chinese officials.
Angwang will remain behind bars until his trial.
