A man in a van sped out of control and slammed into a row of parked cars in Westchester Square Thursday evening, police say.

He was fleeing police officers, according to investigators.

Some of the cars lurched into other vehicles, increasing the damage.

Police say a man was arrested, and at least one woman was taken to the hospital.

The driver damaged about eight cars in total, police say, before trying to flee. A local landlord says the incident also caused damage to the railing in front of his building.
