NYPD searching for person who violently stabbed a man in Soundview

The man was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

Police say they are looking for the person who violently stabbed a man on Soundview on Thursday.

A person walked up to a 56-year-old man in front of 1240 Morrison Ave. at 10:30 p.m. on May 15, the NYPD says.

Police say the attacker approached the man from behind, pulled out a sharp object and stabbed him repeatedly before taking off.

The man was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Investigators confirm he is now stable.

As for what led to the violent attack, police say that is still under investigation.

Police are now providing images of the alleged attacker. They are asking the public to help turn them in.
