Two men are wanted after they allegedly tricked and robbed a 67-year-old parking attendant in Tremont, police say.
According to police, one of the suspects came up to the attendant in the parking lot on East 175th Street and said he was a federal agent just before 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
In the surveillance video, man is seen going up to the office and flashing a badge before heading to the back of the lot. The suspect said he was investigating the red truck and needed to take it away, drawing out the attendant and arguing.
Police believe it could have been a distraction as during the argument, another man can be seen walking into the empty office and stealing cash. Police say they suspects made off with $395.
The NYPD adds after walking out of the lot, the suspects both got in a black GMC Yukon SUV and drove off.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information on the suspects is asked to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
