A Parkchester woman says a man was caught on surveillance video stealing her puppy.
Stephanie Felicies Thornton says she tied her dog, named Arthello, to a light pole outside a deli at Hugh J. Grant Circle around 2 a.m. on Christmas Eve. When she exited the deli, her blue nose pit bull was gone.
Thornton says two people approached her and said they saw a man dragging the dog down Virginia Avenue. A surveillance video from nearby appears to show a man walking her 6-month-old dog.
"How could somebody do something like this?" she says. "He is a living breathing thing, how could somebody do something so malicious?"
Thornton says Arthello is all white with blue-green eyes, floppy ears and a black spot near his tail. The canine also has some pink coloring on his nose. She is offering a $1,000 reward to anyone who returns her dog.
