Police have arrested a 17-year-old in connection to the fatal shooting of Laquai Dash that took place in Morrisania last week.

According to the NYPD, Tyrell Williams now faces charges of murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.

Dash’s loved ones set up a memorial nearby the site where the shooting took place on Cauldwell Avenue between East 158th and 156th streets.

Multiple schools, including Legacy College Prep High School where Dash was a student, are within blocks of where the shooting occurred. It has led to an outcry from the community demanding safer conditions in the neighborhood.
