A Virginia woman was arrested Friday in connection to a fatal hit-and-run in Hampton Bays, police say.

The crash happened Thursday around 2:45 a.m. near the Villa Paul restaurant on Montauk Highway.

Sara Burack, 40, was struck in the collision and succumbed to the injuries she sustained.

Amanda Kempton, 32, was charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident in which a fatality occurred. She is being held overnight for arraignment at Southampton Town Justice Court.
