New information is emerging regarding a man who was shot in front of two
children in broad daylight in Concourse Village.
In a video first scene on News 12, a man wearing red fell into the two
children and then they all fell to the
ground.
The shooter caught up to the victim and then shot him in the back.
The children then are seen struggling to get up and a girl wearing pink
grabbing her brother to shield him as the suspect reaches over her to continue
firing shots at the man on the ground.
Family members of the shooting suspect tell News 12 that he did not mean to
run toward the children and was just trying to avoid getting shot.
A bodega worker eventually comes out to help the children and the man who was
shot.
News 12 is told the victim did not know the children.
Police tell News 12 the fight resulted from an argument.
