10h agoPolice say a woman was killed and an 18-year-old was injured by a hit-and-run Friday night in the Coney Island area.
Officers say the two victims were walking through a crosswalk when a red pickup truck hit them shortly before 9 p.m.
The driver didn't stay and took off westbound on Mermaid Avenue, according to police.
Authorities say Tamika Richards, 41, was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. The 18-year-old victim is currently in the hospital and expected to be OK.
