Woman, 66, found dead in Bronx apartment; Son facing slew of charges

A 66-year-old Bronx woman was found dead early Wednesday morning and police say her son is now in custody facing charges.

A 66-year-old Bronx woman was found dead early Wednesday morning and police say her son is now in custody facing charges.
News 12 is told Carmen Aponte was found unresponsive with trauma to the head inside 1220 Seneca Ave. just after 1:30 a.m.
Police say she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say 40-year-old Steven Castro was arrested on charges of murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
Police say Castro is Aponte's son. News 12 is told he is currently in the hospital.
