After a dazzling performance in the Sweet 16 by star guard Paige Bueckers, the Huskies are now one win away from reaching the program's 16th Final Four in the last 17 seasons.
Bueckers, the consensus No. 1 pick in the upcoming WNBA draft, scored 40 points Saturday against Oklahoma, becoming the first UConn player to score 40 points in an NCAA Tournament game.
"Everybody sees the points, but nobody sees the screens set and the passes that were found to me," Bueckers says. "I guess it's an individual point total, but it's really a team effort."
Head coach Geno Auriemma said Bueckers is playing her best basketball right now.
"When you're a senior and you've been around as long as she has, this is what you're here to do," Auriemma says. "We're pretty excited about playing Monday night."
UConn takes on USC Monday night at 9 p.m. ET for a chance to go to the Final Four.
The Trojans are without star forward JuJu Watkins, who suffered a season-ending ACL injury last week.
