Protesters at Pelham Bay Park open discussion for those affected by racism

Bronx protesters came together Tuesday to stand in solidarity with the black community and the Black Lives Matter movement as people across the globe followed George Floyd’s funeral in Houston.

Bronx protesters came together Tuesday to stand in solidarity with the black community and the Black Lives Matter movement as people across the globe followed George Floyd’s funeral in Houston. 
Protesters at Pelham Bay Park opened a line of communication and listened to others on their experiences with racism.

Organizers said that instead of marching Tuesday night, they will take the time to reflect and tell their stories, all while honoring the lives lost to police brutality. 
For over two weeks, protesters have taken to the streets, filled parks and surrounded precincts. 
"How do we build up? It's by listening and giving them a platform and giving them an opportunity to speak honestly and openly in a safe space,” said protester Marjorie Velasquez.
