Dozens of people protested outside the Business Integrity Commission offices Wednesday night, after a Sanitation Salvage truck driver caused two fatalities in the past six months.

There were also protests held outside the Sanitation Salvage office.

Investigators say that the most recent accident two weeks ago killed a man who was crossing at East 152nd Street and Jackson Avenue.

The driver is not facing any charges.

Police also said that the victim was not walking in a crosswalk at the time.

As News 12 has reported, the Business Integrity Commission is investigating Sanitation Salvage and could revoke the company's license.

Earlier this week, the company offered condolences to the victims but defended its drivers.

"We believe that our safety standards and our drivers' record over the course of millions of miles traveled since the founding of our company in 1984 merit a continuation of our practice and do not warrant a revocation of our license," a spokesperson said at the time.
