Head Start program expands in the Bronx
9ds agoThe ceremony was held by Borough President Vanessa Gibson to honor Puerto Rican culture. Boricuas across the borough showed up to show off their fight.
"Historically, it's just been a way of embracing who we are and reminding all of the communities, not just the Puerto Rican community, but all communities, all Americans of what we bring to this country,” said Gibson.
Festivities honoring Puerto Rican pride will be happening across the borough through the end of the week.
The National Puerto Rican Day Parade will run down Manhattan’s 5th Avenue and start at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
