Rally held in Sayreville after removal of military flags from overpass

Community members held a rally in Sayreville Sunday after the recent removal of flags from a parkway overpass.
The rally was help near the Main Street bridge above the parkway, near Raritan Street.
News 12 is told the Turnpike Authority asked flags representing each branch of the military be removed.
The Turnpike authority says only American flags can be hung on Parkway and Turnpike bridges. Signs or any other displays are banned.
People at the rally say the event was a celebration of togetherness and patriotism.
