A cat stuck under a garbage compactor was rescued Sunday night in Greenvale.
John DeBacker of Long Island Cat Kitten Solution told News 12 they received multiple calls about the animal on the side of Northern Boulevard.
The cat was identified as a Scottish fold, a rare breed known for having a genetic mutation that makes its ears fold downward.
He was taken to an emergency animal hospital following the rescue.
The organization says a fellow animal rescuer has agreed to foster him.
The cat will be available for adoption after he heals.
