Dozens of kids rallied in White Plains on Wednesday to raise awareness and promote a drug-free lifestyle.
The rally took place at City Hall and was organized by the Youth Bureau to kick off Red Ribbon Week.
Officials from the bureau said the week is the largest and longest-running drug prevention campaign in the country.
This year's theme is "Life is a Movie, Film Drug Free."
The theme was woven into many speeches at the rally in White Plains.
Several of the speeches were presented by kids involved with the Community Youth Court.
"I know people with depression and anxiety just because they have become so reliant on these substances and it's affecting their academics and everything," said Olivia Amador.
The mayor of White Plains, a social worker and many other youth leaders also spoke at the event.
