A social services center in the Bronx is expanding one of its programs in an effort to help families across the city during the coronavirus pandemic.
Once a month, Diana Tenen says she walks into the Hopeline Resource Center and walks out with a cart full of groceries for her family and essential oils for her baby.
“Honestly they come from heaven because buying diapers is expensive, the baby is in a lot of diapers, you know,” said Tenen.
During a time when the coronavirus pandemic is causing the Bronx social services agency to change or suspend some of its programs, the food and diaper distribution is seeing a surge in new clients.
