Freeport Mayor: Student slashed in neck and abdomen at Freeport High School

Police have confirmed that one student suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening and was taken to a hospital.

A teenage student at Freeport High School was slashed in the neck and abdomen during a fight on school grounds, according to Freeport Mayor Robert Kennedy.
Police say the incident happened shortly before 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Cellphone video shows the two students fighting in the hallway of the school.
According to police, one student suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, and was taken to a hospital.
The other student was arrested and is being held at the Nassau Police Department’s First Precinct.
