New York City’s Family Enrichment Centers offer services inspired by the community members who need them--and that work hasn’t stopped throughout the pandemic.
Circle of Dreams in the Highbridge section of the Bronx is one of three Family Enrichment Centers in New York City.
It is an ACS initiative that provides programs proposed and often developed by the community members who use them.
Before the pandemic, the rooms were typically filled for more than 100 offerings such as art therapy and support groups.
About 50% of them are now done virtually. Circle of Dreams is now slowly welcoming back families with appointments during the week. It is also continuing to give referrals to those in need of specific services. The center hopes to start up limited in-person offerings in September.
