As the infection rate continues to rise in parts of southern Brooklyn and Queens, the state is stepping in to get these areas back on track.

Areas like Borough Park and Gravesend continue to see a flashback of what the city looked like just a few months ago, as nonessential businesses were forced to shut down.

In red zone focus areas, the positivity rate for test results was reported Friday to be at 4.84%.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo says that the state will not risk going back to where it was in the spring, and that it will take the work of all New Yorkers to maintain the city's progress.

The governor also announced earlier this week that the state will provide 200,000 rapid tests to New York City schools in yellow zones, such as in Bensonhurst.

Tests would be made available as needed as part of a new requirement.

As of Saturday morning, the statewide positivity rate is at 1.25%.
