Crews are working to help the thousands of residents left without power across the Bronx after Isaias tore through the region.

Con Edison says Isaias caused the second largest power outage in history, leaving 260,000 customers without power. In the Bronx, over 22,000 people are dealing with no electricity.

The company says it will be working around the clock the next couple of days to restore service. It will dispatch extra workers, including tree trimmers.

Carmen Arzola spent her birthday Wednesday cleaning up after the storm. She is one of the few residents who still had power in Pelham Gardens.

She says many of her neighbors and even a supermarket in the area lost power.

Crews were seen cleaning up broken branches and even trees that were entirely uprooted across the Bronx.

Con Edison says crews are starting with areas that lost the most power and then will work their way to smaller areas.

News 12’s Anthony Carlo was at Pelham Parkway with more on conditions after residents reported fallen trees in the neighborhood. 

Con Edison warns residents to not try to move knocked down power lines themselves, as they could still be working and risk injury.
