A vehicle crashed into a storefront in Pelham Bay, injuring six people, according to police.
Law enforcement officials say the incident took place just before 11 a.m. on Friday when a 61-year-old male crashed into the Penny Pincher store located at 3002 Middletown Road.
Exclusive video shared with News 12 from a local resident shows the car completely inside of the front of the building, knocking down bricks from the foundation. FDNY members were seen stabilizing the storefront in the moments after the crash.
“I just heard the big blast and while I was driving from the other side, I saw that car hit this building,” said local resident and eyewitness Sam.
Police say they believe the driver lost control of the vehicle, and at this hour the conditions of the six people who were injured are unknown.
