The loved ones of the 46-year-old woman who was found dead in her Westchester Avenue apartment on Monday commemorated her life with a candlelight vigil.
Selma McLean, 46, was found dead on her living room floor early Monday morning. Police say a 26-year-old woman was taken into custody that same morning.
Those in attendance at the vigil say many knew her as Jada. Many came with white and purple candles in her honor, and that they’ll never forget her kindness and delicious cooking.
Several close family members say the 26-year-old who was taken into custody was McLean’s daughter. They say she lived with McLean and had been suffering from mental health episodes, having recently been released from a mental health facility.
No charges have been filed at this time in the death of Selma McLean.
