Wantagh parents call for stricter penalties for driving with a suspended license after death of daughter
After their daughter Kyra was killed in a crash, Rena and George Gasparis of Wantagh are calling for stricter penalties for drivers with suspended licenses.

9h agoAfter their daughter Kyra was killed in a crash, Rena and George Gasparis of Wantagh are calling for stricter penalties for drivers with suspended licenses.
Kyra Gasparis died in July 2020 when the car she was a passenger in slammed into a tree on Gardiners Avenue in Levittown.
Eddy Delaleu was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree.
Compounding the Gasparis's heartache was the penalty imposed on the driver.
Under the law, the maximum sentence for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle is 30 days in jail.
Last month, a judge sentenced Delaleu to a fine of $350 and no jail time.
Rena Gasparis said, "Ifeel it's very unfair in this pro-felon society that this person can walk away with killing someone. "
Rena and George Gasparis are now pushing for the passage of Kyra's Law to crack down on people who drive with a suspended license.
