The Wave Hill Cultural Center hosted a Day of the Dead celebration on Sunday in Riverdale.
The jam-packed event was full of family fun and celebrations. Children painted Nicho boxes to honor their loved ones. They also made giant paper flowers and were treated to a Day of the Dead book reading.
“The Day of the Dead is about remembering. It’s all about celebrating the lives of the people that have passed away,” said Steve Raymundo, the art education coordinator of the Wave Hill Cultural Center.
