Crossway Driving School in Fordham is hoping to speed up business after months of being curbed because of COVID-19.
Their reopening has been a struggle and their four-month shutdown forced the driving school to close one of their six locations.
Their Fordham location was also severely damaged during the citywide looting in June. However, Crossway Driving is hoping to turn a corner and put all that behind them.
Co-owner Annie Chaljub says business is just starting to pick up. She says many construction workers have been signing up for safety courses to get their OSHA certification before it’s due next month.

Its training fleet is now outfitted with barriers to protect the student and instructor.
Foot markers are also in place to remind customers to keep 6 feet apart. Signs are also posted reminding people that face coverings are required.
The family-owned business says that now that they’re open for business again, their focus is to continue to serve the community.
