Police are investigating three separate slashings in Brooklyn that left three men hospitalized over the weekend.
The first attack happened at about 6:20 a.m. Saturday on a northbound Q train, as it approached the Cortelyou Road station.
Police said a 37-year-old man was slashed in the face by an unidentified man in a face mask armed with a sharp object.
The attacker got off the train at the station and ran south on Cortelyou Road.
Hours later, around 10 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to Brooklyn Avenue and Foster Avenue for a 53-year-old man also slashed in the face. A man also wearing a mask fled the scene, according to police.
A third slashing was reported around the corner from the previous one, around 6:55 a.m. Sunday at 3311 Newkirk Ave.
A 56-year-old man was slashed on the left side of his face.
Police said the man was approached from behind and attacked with a knife.
The suspect, again described as a male wearing a mask, ran off. Police have not confirmed whether the three incidents are connected.
An hour before the third slashing occurred police say there was a break in at 1353 New York Ave. The side of that apartment building is directly across from 3311 Newkirk Ave. Police say 27-year-old Odyssey Head damaged a washer and dryer in the basement of the building and burnt clothing.
All three victims were taken to the hospital in stable condition. Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
