Police body camera footage has been released showing the arrest of the man accused of killing NHL star Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew Gaudreau. The crash happened in Salem County this summer.

Sean Higgins, 43, is seen on the video limping and smoking a cigarette before being questioned by New Jersey State troopers. Before police conducted the field sobriety test on County Route 551, Higgins informed officers of a recent knee surgery.

Higgins appears to get confused during the test and could be heard asking, "I'm sorry. I'm just freaked out. What am I supposed to be doing again?"

When asked how many drinks he's had, Higgins is heard telling officers that he had five or six drinks since noon that day. Police later confirmed that Higgins had a blood alcohol level of .087, which is above the legal limit.

Before getting in the patrol car, Higgins can be heard asking, "Is everybody OK back there? I mean, what happened?"

An officer responded, "We'll talk about that when we get to the station."

Higgins was charged with two counts of death by auto, reckless driving and possession of an open container.

A hearing was held just a few weeks ago which only lasted a few minutes. The prosecution was granted a 30-day extension to deal with evidence. There was no plea deal offered.

Johnny Gaudreau, known as “Johnny Hockey,” played 10 full seasons in the NHL and was set to start his third with the Columbus Blue Jackets. He played his first eight seasons with the Calgary Flames.

It has since been revealed that the wives of both brothers are pregnant.
