The Madison Square Boys and Girls Club has been serving the West Farms community for over five decades, and on Tuesday Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson got a firsthand look at what they offer.
Dozens of kids got to see and hear from Gibson as she read to them following her tour of the facility that has provided so much to the community.
The Madison Square Boys and Girls Club is one of the oldest in the country, but you wouldn’t tell from its looks – it has a computer lab, gym, and music room, offering loads of different activities for kids.
The facility also has a swimming pool on the second floor that is currently closed but officials are looking to renovate it as soon as possible.
The staff at this Boys and Girls Club tell News 12 that they currently see about 40-50 kids daily, but that they’re looking to see a return to their higher pre-pandemic numbers.
