A Bronx man faces a sentencing of 18 years to life for fatally shooting what prosecutors are calling a 'romantic rival' during a home invasion.
The home invasion took place in Dyker Heights in December 2021. Adam Thomas, 33, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder earlier this year.
Prosecutors say Thomas broke into his ex-girlfriend's home in the middle of the night, shooting the victim 16 times. They say he also terrorized the woman and her young daughter at gunpoint during the incident but did not hurt her.
