The principal at Lehman High School is under investigation by the city's Department of Education for allegedly tampering with grades.
Janet Saraceno took her post as principal in September 2008. There is speculation among parents that she is under pressure to boost the school's citywide ranking and increase the graduation rate.
Saraceno is accused of making grades higher than they should be. The DOE issued a statement saying, "We've been investigating the charges. When we have the findings we'll report them and take action as necessary."
