Brooklyn Christians are among those celebrating Easter Sunday with a bit more at ease this year, after the previous years’ events were scaled back due to pandemic restrictions.
Parishioners at Kingslawn Presbyterian in Flatlands dressed the part for the church’s first in-person Easter service since 2019.
While many churches returned in-person in previous years, Kingstown stayed online in part because many of their members are elderly – meaning they’re particular at risk to COVID-19.
But on Sunday, the energy inside the church was vibrant and filled with prayers and song.
Pastor Peter Parris says the church reopened in-person service around Thanksgiving last year. He says having everyone back under one roof again is a blessing.
